DETAILED ITINERARY

Your adventure begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. A friendly safari representative will meet and greet you, before transferring you to your lodge in Arusha. Nestled at the foot of Mount Meru, the lodge offers the perfect haven to rest after your journey. As you enjoy your first Tanzanian dinner, the sounds of crickets and the cool evening breeze set the tone for the days ahead. This is your chance to relax, meet your guide, and prepare for the unforgettable safari that begins tomorrow.

After breakfast, you set out on the first leg of your safari, heading to Tarangire National Park. This park is often described as Tanzania’s hidden gem, famous for its giant baobab trees and large herds of elephants. As you drive across the open plains, giraffes stroll gracefully, while impalas leap through the grass. The Tarangire River, a lifeline during the dry season, attracts countless animals, making it an excellent place to spot predators. In the evening, you retire to a charming lodge or tented camp inside or near the park, surrounded by the wild sounds of the African night.

The day begins with a drive to Lake Manyara, a small but incredibly diverse park. The park’s landscapes range from thick forests at the base of the Great Rift Valley to the shimmering alkaline lake that stretches across the horizon. Here, you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions, along with huge flocks of flamingos painting the lake pink. Elephants often wander close to the road, giving you breathtakingly close encounters. In the afternoon, you make your way to the Ngorongoro Highlands, where cool breezes and lush scenery provide a peaceful overnight stay.

Today is a highlight of the safari. At dawn, you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s seven natural wonders. The crater floor is like a natural zoo, home to over 25,000 animals in a stunning 260-square-kilometer caldera. Lions lounge in the grasslands, hippos wallow in the ponds, and if you’re lucky, you may even spot a rare black rhino grazing quietly. A picnic lunch by the hippo pool offers a magical moment, before heading onward to the Serengeti. As you drive, the plains open up endlessly, and you feel the anticipation of entering one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in the world.

he Serengeti welcomes you with its vast golden plains and endless skies. This is where the Great Migration unfolds: thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving in unison, shadowed by predators waiting for opportunity. Depending on the season, you may witness dramatic river crossings or calving grounds alive with newborns. The day is spent exploring different parts of the park, guided by your expert driver who knows where the herds are concentrated. As the sun sets, you return to your camp, perhaps sitting around a fire under the star-studded African sky, reliving the day’s awe-inspiring encounters.

A full day dedicated to game drives in the Serengeti gives you the chance to go deeper into this wilderness. Early morning is prime time for spotting predators—lions, leopards, and cheetahs are often on the hunt before the heat of the day sets in. Later, you might drive toward the kopjes—ancient rock formations that provide shelter for lions and a perch for leopards. Every corner of the Serengeti offers surprises, from elegant giraffes grazing on acacias to massive herds stretching as far as the eye can see. The day ends with another unforgettable night in the heart of the wild.

After breakfast, you enjoy a final game drive as you make your way to the airstrip or road transfer back to Arusha. The journey gives you one last chance to soak in the magic of the Serengeti—the sweeping plains, the wildlife, and the spirit of Africa. Back in Arusha, you can catch your onward flight or extend your adventure with a visit to Zanzibar’s spice islands. Though the safari ends here, the memories of the migration, the wildlife, and the landscapes will remain with you forever.
